Easiest way to see who is using it is to survey the dead

“Ancient medicine appeals to westerners” was the headline of the ‘Your Health’ column of the April 22, 2005 edition of the Calgary Herald written by Elizabeth Grice of the London Telegraph. It caught my eye. What of the seemingly infinite number of ‘ancient’ or ‘traditional’ or simply ‘flaky’ forms of medicine was the Herald promoting today I wondered?. Read the rest of this entry »

What the “Bleep” Do We Know? Honored

Every April 01, James Randi announces his Pigasus Awards. There are four categories:

  • “to the scientist who said or did the silliest thing related to the supernatural, paranormal or occult
  • to the funding organization that supported the most useless study of a supernatural, paranormal or occult claim
  • to the media outlet that reported as factual the most outrageous supernatural, paranormal or occult claims
