The King of Calgary Talk Radio Promotes Intelligent Design

This whole Dover Pa. court ruling is getting everybody in a knot. First the Calgary Herald throws a hissy-fit (see News, ASkepticRTN Dec 2005) and now Dave Rutherford, talk radio king in Calgary does a 15 minute promotional spot for ID with Dr. Stephen C. Meyer, Program Director of the Discovery Institute — that vast collection of flakes attempting to have the Christian version of creation taught as science under the moniker of Intelligent Design. (Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the initials of the Discovery Institute are the same as for Intelligent Design, only reversed. A secret sign? Perhaps the reversal means there is no intelligent design in the Discovery Institute. It fits.) Read the rest of this entry »

Meanwhile, we anxiously await for the ID breakthrough of the year.

I just received my December 23 edition of Science — the Publication of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The last publication of the year is a Special Issue in which the editors identify what they think are the top ten scientific breakthroughs of the year. Their choice for the number 1 scientific breakthrough in 2005? Evolution. Read the rest of this entry »
